Should #Easter Foods REALLY Be This Fun?
Continuing with my Easter fun after yesterday’s Hot Cross Buns and #Easter Chocolates Anyone?, what do I have in store today?
Please sit back with a cuppa (Aussie lingo for a cup of coffee or tea) and enjoy the Easter fun and frivolity!
Princess What? (from British India,#Adelaide and British India, #Adelaide Part II) always have food fun together!
Is there anything really better?
If you will allow me to digress for a minute, I will set the kitchen scene with Princess What? and me!
I tend to get distracted VERY easily when it comes to all things food, so with Princess What? at one end of my kitchen and I am at the other, here is the scenario:
I is measuring out ingredients in Thermalina; time, temperature and speed JUST as Princess What? asks, “Did you see……
To which I “excitedly and LOUDLY” said, “120 grams, 130 grams, 140 grams…“
Princess What? nods and says, “Oh, you are concentrating!” (then laughs) and got on with her task.
With all my ingredients measured out, I had a couple of minutes to sit down and chat!
So Princess What?, “What was I supposed to see?”
You would think Princess What? and I were twins, born in separate years as she then exclaimed, “13, 13, 13, 13…”
We both laughed!
Chef Georgio was in the next room and he was not game to enter the kitchen domain with Princess What? and I “cackling” almost the entire time!

Starting off with my last “teaser” photo and description of “It’s “light and fluffy” and can be and I can also describe it as an Easter food pillow, here is a wonderful and fun marshmallow recipe!
If you don’t have any rabbit moulds, you can place Joanna’s #Easter Marshmallow Recipe in a flat cake tray lined with baking paper; cut into desired shapes and sizes; roll in coconut; keep refrigerated.
- 2 tablespoons gelatine
- 1½ cups caster sugar
- 2 cups hot water
- 2 cups coconut
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- Rabbit moulds large and small
- pink food dye
- In a saucepan, place, sugar, gelatine and hot water; stir until combined; about 8 minutes.
- Boil mixture for 20 minutes.
- Add vanilla essence and whisk vigorously on high until mixture is thick; about 5 minutes.
- Pour mixture in rabbit moulds; place in fridge for a minimum of 3 hours or until fully set.
- Remove from fridge and mould; roll in coconut; decorate ears with pink dye.
- ENJOY!
I recently intoduced this “very unique and fun” rabbit cake jigsaw puzzle and bunny cookie cutters which magically hopped In My Kitchen #April 2014 via Homefresh Experience.
No recipe is really an original, so Princess What? and I followed the recipe on the back of the rabbit packaging and then we heard Thermalina say, “What about me?”
Thermalina LOVES when she can help in making fun cooking and baking recipes too!
What an Easter workout she did get!
Look forward to what she helped me create for Anzac Day coming via blog post soon!
When I opened my What’s On The List folder, I had saved Carla’s Themomix Cookies from The Annoyed Thyroid!
I hope you can now laugh at me!
Before Princess What? and I got to decorate them, friends stopped by and there was none left!
This is REALLY a GREAT recipe and will be a definite keeper for me!
